This post is about showing my dividend income for the month of April, my apologies in advance for the delay in posting, a recent basement flood over 3 weeks ago due to rapid snow melt etc. has somewhat hindered my free time for blogging. But all is well, basement is dried out and ready for rebuild. A post about the experience of dealing with the flood etc. might happen later on once everything is finalized but for this post will stay on topic.
For this month the income from dividends tallied up to $315.53 a noticeable increase from previous months, this is mainly due to some quarterly dividend payouts from Annaly Capital Management NLY and Coca-Cole KO. It is always is nice to see those months where the quarterly payouts kick in :). While it makes it harder to see the merits of reinvesting dividends and watching them grow it will show itself next quarter. As both these companies I am reinvesting the dividends to buy whole shares as well.
As in previous month’s the bar graph below is a visual guide to show progress being made which is important to help keep motivated as well as visually see growing dividends. I always enjoy entering in the data to input into the graph. While somewhat off topic of this post but still related, I will be writing a post here in the near future on active real estate investing versus passive real estate investing. Either type has its way of providing “dividends” and we will discuss it in length in a post.
But will leave you as the reader with this for something to think about or mull over which is more attractive to you the active route or the passive route? Look forward to hearing comments and ideas regarding this topic.
Until next time cheers and the dividend income graph is below 🙂
